Recently, I created a math lesson for math students focusing on the similarities between the circumference of a circle and the area of a parallelogram. The lesson is directed towards 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math students. The project involves creating origami frogs out of index cards. Then, seeing how many times it takes to jump around the "pond." It's a fun project to do after the unit on circumference and area. After the project, you tie together the similarity between area and circumference.
